On 18^th June, 2015 the seniors group from the Western Centre celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival (端午节).

Entertainment for the day included dance performance by ACCA’s dance team and a signer of Italian background

The ACCA dance team led by Xiali Zhu and Jackie Seow performed a number of dances to the delight of the seniors. For some it was the first time seeing the ACCA dancers performing in their beautiful colorful red costumes, including the dance ‘Willow in the Month of June’.

Ms Roseanna Gallo (OAM) of Italian background also attended to sing two Chinese songs and an Italian song. The Chinese songs that Roseanna sang were:

月亮代表我的心– The moon represents my heart

恭喜恭喜 – Gongsi gongsi

Shy the seniors were not for they soon took to the floor to dance away as Roseanna was singing.

To mark the event, the traditional rice dumpling (zongzi 糭子), was served together with other delicious food.

More entertainment and laughter again soon followed with the seniors taking to the floor with their karaoke!

Well done and congratulations to the organising team for coming up with such a fun filled day.
