National Chinese Eisteddfod
The National Chinese Eisteddfod, organised by the NSW Chinese Education Council and the Sing Tao Daily, has been held for twenty-one years. We are one of the long-term sponsors and participants of the competitions. In 2010, four of our students came first out of 9 individual events. Through the Eisteddfod, we aim to encourage student participation and promote cultural integration within the community.
The School Competitions
The ACCA Chinese School and its Parents’ Club held Mid-Autumn Lantern Design Competition and Chinese Calligraphy Competition every year.
The Lantern Competitions aims to inspire the creativity of the students and promote the understanding of Chinese cultural and traditions. The Calligraphy Competitions introduce the students to the traditional Chinese art of calligraphy and enhance the proper writing sequence of Chinese characters.
The winning artworks will be displayed during the school assembly and be published on the newspapers.
The Chinese School Parents’ Club
We believe the involvement of parents is instrumental in achieving the best possible learning outcomes of the students. Parents can help the students to overcome many of the barriers in learning the Chinese language.
Members of the Parents’ Club assist with school ground patrol and manage the Chinese library service during recess. In additions, They are involved in the organisation of various events, such as seminars on education issues, the National Chinese Eisteddfod, the Annual Speech Day and the Lantern Design Competition. We are extremely grateful of the supports the parents have given us.
