Wednesday, 26 February 2020

ACCA celebrated the Multicultural NSW Seniors Festival on 21 February 2020 at its Parramatta Service Centre. The event was hosted jointly with PCYC Parramatta.

Sharyn DiNatale, ACCA Service Manager kicked off the event with the opening remarks and gave a warm welcome to the attendees from PCYC Parramatta and ACCA seniors. David Zammit, Club Manager who represented PCYC Parramatta in his speech said PCYC was delighted to participate in an event with ACCA for the first time.

The event started with a Hip Hop dance performance by an instructor from DanceKool. The audience participated earnestly in the Hip Hop dance and it could be seen that the performance was well received by everyone.

This was followed by several cultural dances performed by the ACCA Dance Group. ACCA member Jackie Seow’s rendition of famous Taiwanese singer Teresa Teng’s international hits was a pleasant surprise and was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

There was also a tai-chi and martial arts performance by members of the Eye of The Eagle Martial Arts Academy.

The participants and guests were ACCA seniors and aged care service clients, PCYC Parramatta members and staff as well as several NDIS participants and their carers from a Parramatta-based NDIS service provider. The Hip Hop dance and martial arts performances were events presented by PCYC Parramatta.

A buffet style lunch was provided and this also presented an opportunity for the participants and guests to interact.

The event was funded by the NSW Government to promote and celebrate diversity.
