Deepest condolences to the families of Katrina Dawson and Tori Johnson

Thursday, 18 December 2014

The Australian Chinese Community Association wishes to convey its deepest condolences to the families, relatives and friends of Mrs Katrina Dawson and Mr. Tori Johnson, both who tragically lost their lives as a result of the Martin Place siege.

We pray for the families of Katrina and Tori. Our hearts and wishes also go out to the victims and to those who may have been traumatised by the tragic event.

The loss of innocent lives shows us how fragile lives can sometimes be when people go about their daily routine. Please bear that in mind and whenever you can, hug and hold your loved ones everyday.

It is hard to imagine that violence of this nature has come to Sydney. Threats, intimidation and violence have no place in our community.  Australians must stand firm to say ‘NO’ against those who intend threatening the peace, security and values within our society.

We commend the police and other agencies who had carried out their work under difficult circumstance, and at the same time engaging the various communities.
