ACCA founder Mr Keep (Kip) Fong OAM passes away

Monday, 23 January 2017

The directors of ACCA are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear friend and first President of ACCA Mr Keep (Kip) Fong OAM. Mr Fong passed away on 20th January 2017 peacefully at home at the age of 88. He leaves behind his wife Jean, 3 children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mr Fong is always regarded as the founding father of ACCA as he was instrumental in the formation of ACCA in 1974.  Mr Fong was an active volunteer who was deeply involved in the Chinese community assisting with welfare and charity work.  He recognised the need for a nursing home for the elderly and frail members of the Chinese community and was involved in the setting up of a nursing home in Sydney in 1978.

Mr Fong commanded respect and was always held in high esteem in the Chinese community during his time. For his lifelong devotion to helping the Chinese community he was awarded the OAM. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and members of the Chinese community.

A truly humble and kind-hearted man like Kip Fong who departs from this earth never truly leaves, for he is still alive in our hearts and minds, through many of us, he lives on.

We offer our deepest condolences to Kip’s wife Jean and family.
