City Seniors Group - 36th Anniversary Celebration

Tuesday, 8 December 2015

On 7th October 2015, the City Seniors Group celebrated its 36th anniversary to mark the founding of the seniors group.

It was good to see that this event was so well supported with some 220 seniors, members, volunteers and friends attending to join in the day of fun!

The day kicked off with messages of reflection and goodwill from the floor.   Three senior members (Mr Ching Ho, Mr Wong Wai Hung and Mrs Chung) were awarded a scroll each in recognition of their services given to the seniors group. This was then followed with volunteers’ certificates of appreciation awarded to those well-deserved volunteers who had given so much of their time to ACCA. Entertainment was provided by Mr Peter Shum and Mrs Ho singing away to their heart’s delight (opera).

No event would be complete without the yummy delicious food of roast chicken, fish, cold dishes and many others. The celebration ended with the drawing of the lucky draw prizes.  Many of the prizes given out were generously donated by a number of the members, including Mrs Chung who donates regularly. Thank you Mrs Chung and those unnamed donors; your generosity is an inspiration to all and touching to see the joys you have brought to the faces of many of the members.

The Board of directors would like to congratulate and thank all those involved in organising this very successful event.  Events such as these are an important aspect of life in the ACCA community and a platform for seniors to enhance their social networks and maintain their general well-being through regular gathering and meetings.
