ACCA City Seniors Group celebrates 37th Anniversary

Wednesday, 16 November 2016

The City Seniors Group celebrated its 37th anniversary on 16th November 2016 at the Marigold Restaurant in Chinatown. The event was well attended by over 200 members, volunteers and friends coming together to celebrate the founding of one of the oldest Chinese community seniors groups in NSW. The celebration was joined by ACCA President Ms Shirley Chan, Vice-President Mr Daniel Kwan and director Mr Felix Lam.

There was plenty of singing, cultural performances, lucky draws, and lots of laughter from the happy crowd. Members and guests thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company.  Many also complimented the delicious and high quality food served by the restaurant.

ACCA President Ms Shirley Chan in her speech congratulated the Group for their achievements and also thanked the Committee members, led by Mr Ho Ching Quan, for their hard work and contributions to make ACCA a leading organisation in the Chinese community.

ACCA’s Seniors Groups provide a “home” to a vibrant group of elderly from the local Chinese community. It provides a platform for seniors to enhance their social networks, minimise social isolation, and maintain general well-being through regular gatherings and activities, and has been an important part of ACCA since the 1970’s.

We look forward to another grand celebration again next year.
