ACCA Attends Afternoon Tea for Australia’s Ambassador to China, Ms Frances Adamson

Thursday, 26 June 2014

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) in May 2014 sought assistance from ACCA to help arrange an afternoon tea for Australia’s Ambassador to China, Ms Frances Adamson, to meet with members from active Chinese communities in Sydney.

ACCA through our social sub-committee (under the Chair of Maggie Wu) with the assistance from Miranda Budiman and Felix Lam compiled a listing of organisations (from various community service groups, educational, charitable, distinct ethnic group, etc) to assist DFAT in preparing their mail out invitations.

The afternoon tea, held on 26 June 2014 at the premise of DFAT, was a success. The Ambassador gave a short speech, both in English and Mandarin, followed with elaboration of the continuing relationship between Australia and China, growing from strength to strength. The Ambassador then mingled to meet and greet the members from the respective organisations.

Ms Miranda Budiman and Ms Maggie Wu represented ACCA at the afternoon tea.
