ACCA – Aged Care Information Day in Hurstville

Friday, 14 June 2019

ACCA hosted an Aged Care Information Day at its Hurstville office on Friday 7th June 2019.

ACCA Vice-President Shirley Chan started the event by wishing a warm welcome to the participants. Ms Chan mentioned that ACCA has been providing quality aged and community care services to the elderly for more than 40 years. She said that the purpose of the talk was to introduce to the local community the government funded home support programmes and home care packages.

Clr Christina Wu of Georges River Council, said that she hoped the participants will be able to benefit from the talk on aged care and wished everyone well. Clr Wu also said that the government has been assisting service providers like ACCA to deliver culturally appropriate aged care services to members of the Chinese community. ACCA has a wealth of experience in this area and can help those in need of aged care services.

Experienced ACCA staff members spoke about topics that included Falls Prevention, Centre-based aged day care and Home Care Package services. The participants were attentive and listened intently to the speakers and some took detailed notes during the talks.

After the talks, there was a question and answer session where the participants could seek clarification and obtain further information from the speakers. Thereafter, the participants and speakers adjourned for lunch.

The event was funded by a grant from the Georges River Council. Approximately 50 people attended the event.
